Will Hawkins, Director of Nations and Regions

RIBA

William Hawkins is Director of Nations and Regions at RIBA.  He is responsible for RIBA’s grassroots member engagement including branches, regions and local special interest groups.  This includes a team of 40 staff focused on creating and managing relations with members and delivering services which add value to their membership.  He is also responsible for the RIBA’s 10 regional offices based in cities across England and Wales. William has a background in architecture and economics and has spent 18 years working in construction membership bodies running teams and delivering strategic projects around design and place.  He is also a fellow of the RSA.

This session is led by Maxine McKenzie, Executive Director of Membership at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), which is the professional body for architects in the UK. This session will focus on volunteering for members to take part in and has the following learning outcomes: How to enable your members to volunteer their time to support your purpose Connecting volunteering back to recruitment and retention Pros and cons of different approaches.
