James Roberts, Membership Experience Manager

Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP)

James has been working with membership bodies, and engaging stakeholder communities, for over a decade; initially with more of a communication focus but primarily on the strategy and structure of successful engagement, and managing the necessary change to achieve it.

His role as Membership Experience Manager at RCGP signals a significant change in direction for the college, away from a transactional and sales driven relationship with members to an emotional one that is truly member-centred.

James is responsible for the strategic implementation of the membership experience approach, as well as managing the team delivering engagement with various member groups and committees at all career stages, with a lot of new work on engaging schools and medical students before they’ve even made the decision to become a GP.
